Do you have a favourite tree?

Trees of Glencairn

Do you have a favourite tree in the Glencairn area?

All trees in the Moniaive Conservation Area (see map at the bottom of the page) are protected and you must apply for a licence to do any work on them. But how about those trees outside the village? Nominate your tree and we will apply for a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) and add it to the Woodlands Trust’s Veteran Tree Map. This is to ensure our veteran trees are protected and will still be there to delight future generations.

(D&G council is not taking TPO applications at this moment but we will apply when they resume the service).

Does it have a name?

Why is it your favourite tree?

How old it is?

What do you think it has seen in its lifetime?

Do you know what species is it?

How old it is?

Do you know if it already has a TPO?
