The Lost Rainforests of Glencairn guided walk took place on the 18th March. Antoine guided a group of 8 very enthusiastic participants through a local patch of woodland, and we all took the time to look at things very (very) closely. Antoine talked about temperate rainforests, the conditions under which they develop and the signs to look out for to identify a possible patch of rainforest. Mosses, ferns, lichens and liverworts were thus the focus of the day, along with the incredible trees they grow on.
